Disability Access Certificate Applications

The requirement for Disability Access Certificates (DAC) came about when the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2009 came into force on January 1st 2010 and required that all buildings, excluding dwellings but including apartments, to have a Disability Access Certification Application made to the Local Authority Building Control Section for their approval.

The Building Regulations Part M document was revised in 2010 and brought along vast changes compared the previous Part M 2000 edition of the regulations.  The title of the document also change to “Access and Use” to reflect the more inclusive approach in designing buildings for all users.

We would be delighted to discuss any requirements for a DAC application which you may have.
